Management Influences on Vaccines

Sorry about the lack of posts lately! I have been very busy with projects and exams as the semester is coming to an end. Even though this delayed my posts, one of the essays I was working on sparked a blog idea. A fellow HMP student and I wrote an essay on vaccine regulation. I learned a lot about how far vaccines have come from and where we are now. A common issue in this modern era is providing access. This got me thinking there must be a relationship between management and the development of vaccines.
The main problem is there are so many new vaccines and higher standards of each due to our advancement in technology. This is generally a great thing, but it leads to higher costs and creates a bigger challenge in creating enough for a greater proportion of the population while at a fairly decent cost. To help this problem the Effective Vaccine Management Initiative was implemented. The EVM focuses on the lower income countries so they can support their own populations. They provide new vaccines, help age groups beyond infants get vaccinated, and try to create better access for all.
The EVM is a great example of what management in healthcare can do. I realized after doing plenty of research on vaccines there have been many movements similar to the EVM, such as the Vaccine for Children Program, to help address problems as vaccines develop over time. It truly shows what management in healthcare can truly do.

Here is a link to a pdf with information on the EVM initiative:
